At Stonehill, we think that it is important to mark special occasions, achievements, and milestones. We also think that it is important to build community, a sense of belonging, to have some fun and be silly every now and then!
As educators, we know that the job we do is important and serious (but we try hard not to take ourselves too seriously). We also know that positive relationships are the foundation for great learning.
With this in mind, today we had some fun and celebrated a purposeful, positive start to the school year. We also marked a significant milestone in our school’s development. We now provide an international education for more than 500 knowledgeable, caring, confident and responsible global citizens. It is also our 10th Birthday – and what better way to celebrate than with ice cream!
At lunchtime today our school came together to hear the teachers rock the playground with a specially composed Stonehill Song. Children, support staff, administrative staff and teachers came together to celebrate our wonderful learning community. After the singing, we took some time to enjoy a musical mingle, introduce ourselves to each other and learn some names.
Please note that children will be bringing home a gift from school today. All members of our school community have been provided with a special commemorative 10 Year Anniversary T-Shirt. We hope that the children enjoyed a memorable afternoon.
