Grade 9 Student Speaks at UN HQ in New York
Stonehill International School’s Grade 9 student, Ira Ratnaparkhe, was deeply affected by the Kerala floods of 2018. The incident drove her to getting in touch with 1 Million for 1 Billion (1M1B), a social innovation and future skills initiative aligned to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Ira worked with 1M1B to create her project, Tarajeevanam – Sanskrit for ‘Saving Lives’. In January 2019, Ira was invited to the UN headquarters in New York to present her project work at the 1M1B Activate Impact Summit 2019. We are very proud of Ira for being a knowledgeable, caring, confident and responsible global citizen who took action to support those in need of help.
