A Short History of Stonehill International School

Here is a recap of our major milestones over the years.

Founded in 2008, Stonehill International School is a part of Embassy Education, the education vertical of the Embassy Group.

The ground breaking ceremony and pooja was held in September 2007 and the construction of the Administration Block began in April 2008.

The school opened its doors to eighteen students on the 8th of September 2008.

We were authorised by the IB to offer the Diploma Programme in 2010, the Primary Years Programme in 2011 and the Middle Years Programme in 2012.

We launched our boarding programme in August 2014 with twelve boarding students.

Expansion plans continued with the inauguration of the Multipurpose Hall in October 2018 followed by the state-of-the-art STEM Block and Arts Centre in November 2019.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at Stonehill

Stonehill International School is committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive community where every individual is valued and respected regardless of their race, background, religion, gender identity, or cultural beliefs. Inclusion is at the heart of Stonehill’s mission as it strives to create a school culture where everyone feels a sense of belonging and can thrive socially, emotionally, and academically. Stonehill is dedicated to promoting these principles throughout the school community by embracing differences and celebrating the unique perspectives and experiences that each student, faculty member, and the wider community brings to the school.

Accreditation and Authorisation

Stonehill International School is accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS), and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). Stonehill is also a member of the Australian Boarding Schools Association (ABSA).

In November 2023, we were re-accredited by CIS and NEASC. At the same time, we were also re-authorised by the IB as part of their 5-year authorisation cycle.
