Stonehill is proud to be an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School catering to students from the ages of 3 – 18 in the Primary Years Programme, Middle Years Programme and the Diploma Programme. Stonehill International School (SIS) is accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). We are also a member of the Australian Boarding Schools Association (ABSA) and our Boarding Programme offers full-time and weekly boarding options.

Governance and Leadership
Stonehill is a not-for-profit school and is proud to be an education initiative of Embassy Group. The school is governed by a five-member, appointed Governing Council consisting of prominent business leaders, former parents, and the owner’s representative. The Governing Council acts under the delegated authority of the Board of Stonehill Education Foundation. The Head of School and the Business Manager are also part of the Governing Council, and are supported by the Educational Leadership Team and Admin Team, respectively.

Brian D. Brumsickle
Head of School, Stonehill International School
Originally from the United States of America, Brian has been a professional educator for the past 32 years, including 15 years of leadership experience in international schools and 7 years of experience as an IB Educator. He has Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, as well as teaching credentials in Literature and Social Sciences, a Principal Certification, a Superintendent Certification and an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership. Brian has extensive experience as an administrator within the South Asia region. He has led, coordinated and directed large-scale improvement projects within school systems with the International School Services and has brought all three International Baccalaureate programmes into accreditation to schools.
Brian believes in providing students with a journey that encapsulates the development of intellect and character that is nurtured in a caring community. He is passionate about the Primary Years Programme, Middle Years Programme and the Diploma Programme and has a Category 3 training for all three programmes. Additionally, he has extensive experience with Boarding programmes both in US independent schools, as well as in international schools in Asia. Brian is married and has three children. In his free time, Brian enjoys running, hiking, reading, playing golf, tennis, kayaking and listening to jazz music.
Business Manager, Stonehill International School
Catherine Charles has a Master’s Degree in Commerce and started her career as a Secretary to an Aviation Consulting Company in February 1994 while pursuing the Post Graduate Diploma in Business Studies in St. Joseph’s College, Bangalore.
Catherine was a member of the start-up team of one of the International Schools in Bangalore. She grew to the position of Business Manager with sincere efforts and dedication. She is a good administrator, highly competent in all of the skills necessary to successfully manage the non-academic team, which supports the academics.
Her skills include multi-tasking, financial reports, human resource, budget management, supervision of various departments and negotiating the best for the institution. She values loyalty and dedication and believes strongly in hard work and sincerity. The line that she loves is ‘Honesty is the best practice’. She always practices honesty and expects the same from everybody!
Catherine is married and has a son and a daughter. As a very homely person, she spends all her free time cooking, baking, stitching and embroidering for her family.

Stefano De Napoli (Governing Council Chairperson)
CEO and Director, Indever Corporate Consultants Pvt. Ltd
After ten years of experience in Italy, Stefano relocated to India, in the year 2000 as CEO and Executive Director for the Orlandi Group, a multibillion diversified Italian Industrial Conglomerate. In 2005, he set up his own firm in Bangalore which advises cross border projects.
With over twenty five years of experience in industrial, engineering, and applied technology companies, he has spent the past ten years structuring M&A and Joint Venture projects between European and Indian firms. He has a consolidated knowledge on emerging markets and areas such as Strategic Analysis, International Business, International Negotiations, Business Development and Project Management.
He is now the CEO and Director of Indever Corporate Consultants Pvt. Ltd. He is also on the Board of Directors of several Indian companies.
Stefano was born in Torino, Italy, and has a Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering. He is married and has two children.
Shaina Ganapathy (Nominee Member – Foundation’s Representative)
Head – Education and Corporate Outreach, Embassy Group
Shaina is a part of the leadership team of the Embassy Group and heads the Group’s Education & Community Outreach initiatives.
She has been with the Embassy Group for over 15 years. During her time with the Group, she has been a part of the Residential Sales and Marketing function and has worked as a liaison for the design and development in the capacity of the Owner’s Representative for the Hilton Residences Project, Stonehill International School and the Embassy Corporate Office at Embassy Golf Links Business Park.
As part of the Governing Council of Stonehill International School, a world class IB school, Shaina has been an integral part of the team that founded the school since 2006.
As head of the Embassy Groups community outreach initiatives, she is responsible for the overall development of 17 government schools and all sustainable initiatives of the Group.
Shaina is passionate about education and believes that every citizen should be entitled to basic health care, sanitation and Education. She advocates collective eradication of illiteracy and believes collaborative and sustainable partnerships between the government and private sector can lead the way.
Maureen Stewart-Nordberg (Governor)
Principal PM of Prime International
Maureen Stewart is from the US and lives in Seattle, WA she has spent the last 20 years minus her 2.5 years here in Bangalore. She grew up as an Airforce Brat and moved around every two years to the next adventure with her family. She was fortunate enough to have lived and traveled to many places like Germany (where she was born), Indonesia, Turkey and Spain. Within the US, she spent most of her time in the Midwest and East coast living in New York State, Ohio and Oklahoma. She did her undergrad in Spanish and Linguistics at the State University of New York at Buffalo, and her Masters in Software Engineering at Seattle University when she finally found out what it was that she liked the most.
She is currently working at Amazon in Seattle as Principal PM of Prime International, specifically focused on countries outside of North America. . Prior to that, she has worked with great people in Deloitte & Touche and Boeing. She has been “Having Fun, Working Hard and Making History” since 1999 at Amazon. She has been involved in a number of projects and roles throughout Amazon’s growth and enjoys d to using some of her tools attained over that time while in service on this body.
In addition to that, she has 3 beautiful girls Thalia, Stella and Macie and a great husband Jeff. In her spare time, she likes to cook, read, and gets involved with anything with textiles. She knits, crochets and even spins wool!
Preeti Sawhney (Governor)
Advisor, Mentor, Brand Strategist
Preeti Sawhney is an Advisor, Mentor and Brand Strategist, who sees herself as a perpetual learner.
In addition to her primary work as a Brand Strategist, Preeti is Advisor and Mentor to several startups, entrepreneurs and NGOs on Brand and Business strategy. She is also Catalyst to a women entrepreneurs platform.
Preeti strategically guides brands through all their growth phases and challenges, helping solve brand and business problems with goals and target audiences her lodestar.
She started her career in Lintas (Lowe) Advertising, worked there for 12 years and left as Associate Director running multiple SBUs. Post Lintas, she has been an Independent Brand Strategist for almost 2 decades, working across the spectrum of customer segments, product and service categories and organization types and sizes.
She has studied Mathematical Statistics in Delhi University, followed by a PGDM in IIM Calcutta where she specialized in marketing and consumer behavior- and finally honed her brand strategy skills at Columbia Business School.
Preeti brings a 360˚ perspective which pulls up into visioning and goals and deep dives into issues, contexts, solutions and hurdles. She is passionate about building brands with integrity between purpose and behavior.
Preeti enjoys simplifying the complicated.
She and her husband have 2 boys- a 19 year old reading PPE at Oxford University as well as a 14 year old 9th grader.
Kishore Thota (Governor)
Director, Customer Experience & Marketing, Amazon India
Kishore has 20+ years of experience managing Product, Marketing, Business Development, and Technology teams. He has a Masters in Electrical Engineering from The University of Houston, TX and an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley.

Saraswathy Ramanathan has an MBA in Marketing from Cardiff University, UK where she specialised in Market Research, Strategic Marketing and Consumer Behaviour. She worked as a Media Marketing Planner with GroupM Media for three years where she planned, executed and budgeted marketing campaigns for some of India’s biggest brands. Born in India, Saraswathy grew up in Dubai.
She has previously worked as a Brand Consultant for a start-up Travel and Tourism Company. Before joining Stonehill, she worked with ACTS Group of Institutions and International Needs Incorporated, an NGO for four years. At ACTS she liaised with global offices who work towards establishing the sustainable development goals set by the United Nations in their respective countries.
Her passion is to promote quality education across all backgrounds.

Stonehill Faculty: A global faculty for a multinational student body
The importance of teachers in any academic programme cannot be overemphasized, especially in the IB methodology. All of our faculty members are IB trained and many have significant previous experience in IB schools around the world.
We believe that a diverse faculty goes a long way in preparing students to adapt to a rapidly globalizing world. Most of our teachers have previously lived and worked in many countries and cultures. Not only do they bring a different perspective to the table, but their experience of discovering the pleasures (and puzzles) of living in places quite unlike those they have come from help them empathize with our students – both expatriate children and Indians with global aspirations.
